An exhibition of exhibition of current work by potters from the top of the south.
The participants in this show range geographically from Golden Bay to Picton and consist of members of our association plus invited guests. This selection illustrates the current directions and themes our potters are working with.
Nelson Potters Association was formed in 1979 in order to support and promote the interests of pottery in Nelson. Early potters had been drawn to the area for its natural beauty and climate and its naturally occurring clay. Currently, our association has just over 50 members and their work includes domestic ware, one-off art pieces and large-scale 3d works.
